To my heavenly bass brother Harry. You already know that you're missed in our household. The news of your passing was truly something I was not prepared to hear. Over the years our friendship grew closer and stronger. I have not been able to rest or go a minute of my day without thinking about all the times we spent hanging out together. From backstage at various shows to the streets of New York. All of our phone conversations have been playing throughout the day in my mind just like it was yesterday. I'll never forget a part of one of our interviews when you stated that you wanted me to fill in for you with the Tempts while you filled in for me on my radio show The Love Zone. Doing The Love Zone was just one of your many unfulfilled dreams. Harry, you'll always be known as one cool brother to me. Melvin was my main man, but you respectfully earned your place on my shelf of "World Class Bass Singers." Your smiles and playful laughter on and off stage will always be forever embedded in my soul.

The first time I saw you sing with The Temptations, was when I bought the "20th Century Masters Collection" DVD of The Temptations. I thought you were one hell of a bass singer, and if there was ever anyone gifted enough to fill the late Melvin Franklin's shoes, it was you. You were a great addition to the group and its legacy. Hello, I am Ray C. Bannister. I know I'm a month late, but Harry McGilberry Jr.'s death is the second death I heard about today; the other being Johnnie Wilder Jr. of Heatwave. I'm very saddend by Harry's passing, but just like Johnnie Wilder Jr., Harry McGilberry Jr. has been called home to sing with all the greats in Heaven; for his earthly purpose has been served, and although it was at a young age he's no longer with us, we're left with his contribution to this world: his gift and talent of music with such a legendary group like the Temptations. R.I.P. Mr. McGilberry.
