To my heavenly bass brother Harry. You already know that you're missed in our household. The news of your passing was truly something I was not prepared to hear. Over the years our friendship grew closer and stronger. I have not been able to rest or go a minute of my day without thinking about all the times we spent hanging out together. From backstage at various shows to the streets of New York. All of our phone conversations have been playing throughout the day in my mind just like it was yesterday. I'll never forget a part of one of our interviews when you stated that you wanted me to fill in for you with the Tempts while you filled in for me on my radio show The Love Zone. Doing The Love Zone was just one of your many unfulfilled dreams. Harry, you'll always be known as one cool brother to me. Melvin was my main man, but you respectfully earned your place on my shelf of "World Class Bass Singers." Your smiles and playful laughter on and off stage will always be forever embedded in my soul.
Rest in peace my brother, rest in peace. Sunrise:January 19, 1950 Sunset: April 3, 2006
"I am so very saddened by the news of Harry's death...I have loved the Temptations since before I even knew what was Motown...I was a pre-teen and just loved the Temptations..still do...their sound is timeless...one never outgrows the Temps sound...this Earth is a lesser place without Harry, and Heaven richer...my prayers are with his family, and fellow Temptations...Keep up the happy music, and may we all draw close to God. Shalom,"

"Harry, You will be so missed. The cute little smile you had when performing, like you had your own private joke. You left us way too soon...Sadly.

"There are no words to describe the sadness I feel as I logged into my computer to find some info on the late great Paul Williams, only to find that Mr. Mcgillberry had passed away earlier this month. He was so very talented. I got the opportunity to see The Temptations when they visited Greenville SC, and they were performing at the Bi-Lo Center. I guess it is true what the Righteous brothers sang about, if you believe in forever and that life is just a one night stand, if there's a Rock N Roll Heaven, then you know they gotta a helluva Band. Rest In Eternal Peace"

"I was truly saddened to hear of Harry's passing. It was Harry, who took me upstairs to meet Otis Williams some six years ago in Norfolk, Virginia. From that day on, at every concert I attended, Harry was always there with a smile. When Harry was no longer with the Temptations, I would always ask Otis about him. I miss him already...his voice, his smile, his style, his playfulness... Harry...REST IN PEACE! Respectfully,"

"Dear Harry, I hope these words reach you in Bass Heaven. Hug Melvin and the fellas for me! I didn't ever get the opportunity to meet you, but I love the Temps, and you were the perfect voice to take over the reins and such a place of honor. Not everyone can do Bass proper justice, but you, as Melvin did, had it covered, back to front, inside out and upside down! From talking to Maurice and trying to give him comfort during his (still ongoing) grief, I learned many things from someone who knew you well and felt his great respect and love for you and know how much he misses you on a daily basis. Maurice only loves the special people, and for that reason I love you too! Party hearty up there with the gang - you will be missed but never forgotten."
