In Memory of Harry "Boom Boom" McGilberry

To my heavenly bass brother Harry. You already know that you're missed in our household. The news of your passing was truly something I was not prepared to hear. Over the years our friendship grew closer and stronger. I have not been able to rest or go a minute of my day without thinking about all the times we spent hanging out together. From backstage at various shows to the streets of New York. All of our phone conversations have been playing throughout the day in my mind just like it was yesterday. I'll never forget a part of one of our interviews when you stated that you wanted me to fill in for you with the Tempts while you filled in for me on my radio show The Love Zone. Doing The Love Zone was just one of your many unfulfilled dreams. Harry, you'll always be known as one cool brother to me. Melvin was my main man, but you respectfully earned your place on my shelf of "World Class Bass Singers." Your smiles and playful laughter on and off stage will always be forever embedded in my soul.

Rest in peace my brother, rest in peace.

"I am deeply saddened to hear of Harry's passing. I was fortunate enough to see him perform just recently in Stroudsburg, PA in February, and was quite impressed. I just happened upon this site because I was Googling him because I wanted to contact him. Though I never met him, he seemed very personable . I would like to offer my condolences to his family and may he rest in peace."
