To my heavenly bass brother Harry. You already know that you're missed in our household. The news of your passing was truly something I was not prepared to hear. Over the years our friendship grew closer and stronger. I have not been able to rest or go a minute of my day without thinking about all the times we spent hanging out together. From backstage at various shows to the streets of New York. All of our phone conversations have been playing throughout the day in my mind just like it was yesterday. I'll never forget a part of one of our interviews when you stated that you wanted me to fill in for you with the Tempts while you filled in for me on my radio show The Love Zone. Doing The Love Zone was just one of your many unfulfilled dreams. Harry, you'll always be known as one cool brother to me. Melvin was my main man, but you respectfully earned your place on my shelf of "World Class Bass Singers." Your smiles and playful laughter on and off stage will always be forever embedded in my soul.
Rest in peace my brother, rest in peace. Sunrise:January 19, 1950 Sunset: April 3, 2006
"To all the Family and Loved Ones of Harry McGilberry, Personally I have never had the pleasure or experience of knowing Harry (Berry). I pray all of us will continue to share with others what a beautiful person Harry was. This is how I meet Harry! I have been blessed by a friend who took the time and shared her memories of a friendship and the music Harry performed. This has allowed me to know the beautiful person that Harry was in this world. He will continue with us through the memories we share with others. May Harry be safe and bless in the arms of the Lord. May we never forget those that been with us, especially Harry McGilberry. "I am very sadden to hear of Harry's passing, he was such a positive individual, and a superior vocalist and showman. We recorded and toured extensively in the mid 70's when he was a member of The Futures, and always had a smile on his face. He was a true professional and a gentleman. I will never forget those performances, the nights on the road and the kind words. As the lone female artist travel with a all male tour he kept a close eye, as a brother would. I am for ever grateful to him. Our heartfelt condolences to his loved ones. God Bless and Keep You Harry,"
